For the safety of the birds and guests, there must be a trained bird handler in the Aviary at all times with any member of the public. To exhibit restricted birds our license requires a bird handler with the birds at all times.

You may take as many photos as you like. We do not charge for photos.

You can hire buggies to get around the gardens. Every buggy has a roof so you can stay out of the rain. Bird World tours still proceed as per normal (unless there is lightning in which case we will close Bird World for safety reasons). The Bird World Tour Guide will keep you in the under-covered section of the Aviary so you can stay dry during your tour.

Disability-accessible toilets and parking are available. Access to the cafe, retail and aviaries are wheelchair-friendly. Parts of the gardens may be a little challenging to access via wheelchair due to the steepness of the roads.

The gardens are situated on a sloped terrain, which may present difficulties for individuals with limited mobility. There is designated parking for those with disabilities near the visitors' center, and accessible restrooms are located nearby. The entrance to the center and café is on a level surface, and all four bird aviaries can be reached by wheelchair. For optimal exploration of the gardens, it is recommended to rent a golf buggy, which is also wheelchair accessible. Please note that wheelchair users must be able to transfer into the buggy.
